Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 during an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci would go on to be Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competition was at the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She took the title in the year 1970. At her first international contest in 1972, she took the top spot by winning three gold awards. In her debut as a Senior in 1975, she beat Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning four golds and a silver. In 1976, she was the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started performing as a figure skater along with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. The path she took to success began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. Ice Capades was a show that featured ice-skating by actors.
